Well, I figure I'll get this started now and catch up with it later. How's that for wasting your time?! Sorry! I just wanted the date to show up right. Come back later on in the day (or tomorrow) and you'll see how the day really went.
Well, for starters, I got a vigorous knock on the doors of my truck at 7:00 AM. The truck stop management team (OK 1-guy) politely asked me to move my truck to another spot on the lot. Hey--that's better than being jarred awake by another truck scraping mine! It was kind of a challenge to do so having just been awakened from a deep sleep. But I managed to get the truck backed into a spot--barefoot and all!
After resting for a while, I proceeded on through Nashville. The route I planned to take was very slow do to an accident. So I took a detour on a divided highway that was undergoing construction work. One of the vehicles that passed me was swerving into my lane and then back into his lane. Either he was talking on a cell phone or he wasn't paying attention to the unevenness of the road (which the road warning signs clearly indicated). So after about the 2nd or 3rd swerve into my lane, I let him have it with the air horn. His brake lights went on (as did the car in front of him). After that, he made one more mini-swerve into my lane and then drove fine after that. I rarely use my horns, but when I do, there's always a good reason for doing so.
I made it to Madison, WI where I parked for the night. My wife picked me up so that I could spend some time at home this weekend. Sunday, the family will drop me off back at the truck and I'll resume my journey to Marshfield, WI.
