Hows That Again

Friday, December 31st (New Year's Eve)
The drive today went smoothly. So smoothly, in fact, that I set a new personal best in miles driven today.

The landscape changed from rolling hills and fields to desert shrubs and mesas to mountains (or large foothills--the tallest peaks around here are over 10,000 feet as compared to the tallest peaks in the Smoky Mountains at over 6,000 feet). At the truckstop here in Albuquerque, NM, I see the majestic snow spotted peaks in the distance. Some day I want to make the drive with my wife up to Taos, NM! (but I digress)

I have the time to do a 34-hour restart here. So, New Year's Day I'll get the chance to reflect on '04 and ponder goals for '05. Then, on Sunday I'll begin the last stage of the journey to California (the delivery on Monday should go OK in spite of the amount of rain/water the greater LA area has received over the past week).

Well, time to wish the family a Happy New Year. And a Happy New Year to you as well!
