After finding my trailer that had been repaired overnight, I hooked up to it and took off for North and South Carolina.
I sent a message to Mr. K saying I would not make it to my first stop later today. Later on he Qualcomm'd me back and said that the appointment wasn't until tomorrow AM. I double-checked and he was right. That's the 2nd time in one or two weeks that I've someone read the appointment time and date wrong. Perhaps I'm so desperate to get miles that I'm somehow transferring that desire into moving appointments up a day. In any event, I acknowledged my mistake to Mr. K.
Today was cloudy with periods of sunshine. A nice break from rain and drizzle I've experienced over the last several days. I made it all the way to North Carolina at the eastern foot of the Smoky Mountains. The stretch of I-75 bordering Tennessee and North Carolina is just a blast to drive. Especially in North Carolina, it snakes it's way up, down, and through picturesque river gorges with the mountains (or tall foothills if you're from the Rockies--grin) rising up on both sides. It's fun seeing a caravan of trucks at dusk winding it's way through this area.
My other headlight burned out today (my other one burnt out a few weeks back). So, after replacing it with a bulb from the truck stop shop, I ate supper, planned my routes for tomorrow, and typed this bit up. Since I'm at a T/A (Travel Centers of America), I'll see if they have wireless access.
miles driven = 608
PostScript: The wireless network is working just fine. Hooray!
