Baby Carriage in Tow Today's 3-stops went smoothly. Last evening a fast-moving cold front came through shaking the truck (intense wind gusts) and bringing a brief down pour that lasted for about 20-30 minutes. It happened right as I was drifting off to sleep. Needless to say, sleep came after the front moved through.
This morning's temperature was nice and cool. However, as I traveled back towards Milwaukee, WI the heat and humidity starting climbing. The front did come through Milwaukee as well (with little rain), however, the temperature won't drop until this evening. Even so, things will be again warming up over the next couple of days.
I saw a strange site as I was passing through the farm fields in Minnesota. A woman sitting on a riding mower tractor was towing a baby carriage as well as "walking" a dog (the leash was attached to the tractor). I did a double-take but couldn't tell if there was actually a child in the baby carriage. Who knows: maybe that's the only way the kid will sleep!
When I fueled in Mauston, WI I noticed that a yellow chickadee (the bird was small and yellow) had become a grill ornament for my truck. I gingerly removed the dead bird and disposed of it.
Tomorrow I'll be traversing the same route up to La Crosse, WI for one stop. If all goes well, I'll be home in the afternoon for a long delayed barbeque get-together at some friends down the street.
