Crazy Frog under investigation [Via The Register ]

It looks like Crazy Frog has finally "bing-dinged" too far. Regulators in Germany and Netherlands are looking into the practices used by Jamba and others to sell the frog.
It looks like they are responding to complaints about how people are locked-in to these "subscription" services by text.

"Meanwhile, UK watchdog ICSTIS (Independent Committee for the Supervision of Standards of Telephone Information Services) is investigating complaints over hidden subscription charges levied by Jamba. The UK regulator says it has received more than 100 complaints about its service."

To me, this highlights the shady end of the mobile content business. A lot of providers out there  are hell bent on fooling people into spending more money and providing shoddy content and services. And the only reason that they can get away with it, is because there is such a huge  demand  for mobile content. This questionable behavior and these dodgy practices must stop. There is clear demand for good mobile content that is reasonably priced and and delivered under simple terms and conditions, so people must complain strongly and ultimately when there are a lot more good content providers and aggregators around - these cowboys will be extinct!!
