The TardisThe second episode of the new Doctor Who series aired this evening. After the very promising start made by the first episode "Rose", I found "The End of the World" slightly disappointing. The Doctor and Rose travelled 5 billion years into the future to the day when the sun expands and envelops the Earth. Whilst predictable, the story was actually quite enjoyable. Billie Piper (Rose) was convincing. Cristopher Eccleston (The Doctor) also put in a good performance and seemed even more alien than in the first episode.

The wobbly and unconvincing Tardis controls spoilt part of the episode. The Doctor maniacally spun a wheel and flicked some switches (which didn't seem well fastened to the console). Whilst wobbly sets are a traditional part of Doctor Who, the producers should have ensured that the controls of the Tardis are more believable.
