Show #64: Bill Clinton, Arafat, Mandela and a mission from Raffi
So, what can I say....It's been a month, far too long a gap between shows to keep any kind of a loyal listener base, so I do apologize. A few prods from listeners prompted me to get back in front of the microphone, iRiver and iPod, to put together a new show. In the interim, I've been travelling to Montreal and Vancouver, and working long days and nights in my new job.
This episode relates a story from November 10, when I went to see Bill Clinton give a talk here in Victoria, and relate his tales of the presidency and his vision for the world. I describe the mission I was on for Raffi, and I also play some music by Tom Waits in anticipation of his new 3 CD release Orphans. Talking about the pending departure of daughter Tessa from the nest, I play a song by Blackie and the Rodeo Kings from their album Bark. The musical bed under the opening segment is from Spheric Lounge, my favorite site for ambient music.
