Deception Point

I just finished listening to the audio version of Deception Point by Dan Brown (author of The Da Vinci Code). Dan Brown certainly knows how to write a fast paced thriller!

The plot revolves around a presidential campaign and the discovery by NASA of a meteor in the Arctic. (Did you know that the word Arctic comes from a greek word meaning bear? The Antarctic is so named because it has no bears!). The sitting president is a supporter of NASA and the challenger is very much against NASA. The discovery of the meteor, therefore, has an immense effect on the campagin. Some of the science in the book may be a bit iffy--my husband, who is an engineer, questioned some of it, but other than that it is a good read. Fast paced, lots of plot twists.

The reader of the audio version was very good, too. He was easy to listen to and did a good job of distinguishing between characters.
