House A-REST

The doctor tells me that I have at least 2 more weeks of house aREST. This confinement is driving me nuts. My eye is recovering well, but the eye drops I take 4 times a day keep it dialated, making it hard for me to use the computer. I can read books with my right eye if I take my glasses off. When I visited the doctor yesterday I saw 3 of the patients who were in the hospital with me. The man who was in the bed to my right, says he can't see a thing with his eye now. His eye was red and swollen, whereas my eye looks in good shape. Even in the hospital he refused to followed the recovery regime they laid out for us. He watched TV, walked around and wouldn't sleep face first. Staying at home and resting for weeks is no fun, but it beats years of blindness. I think I can endure the next 2-4 weeks of inactivity. It is better than the alternative.

It's been raining non-stop. The rain is usually preceded by a big whoosh of wind and then the rain thunders in. The whoosh of wind gives you 3-5 seconds to find cover or get your umbrella open. If you're fumbled fingered or footed, you're going to get very wet! I love to sit on the balcony, under our canopy and watch the platoons of rain roll in. The birds dart from branch to branch looking for nice big leaf to hide under. The blowing wind means they have to shift positions constantly. Can you tell I don't have enough to do? :-)
