NYX
The New York Stock Exchange´s stock (NYX) traded on the New York Stock Exchange today for the first day ever.
Even though it began trading as a merged company with an already publicly-traded company, Archipelago, and not through an intitial public stock offering, the stock performed like an initial public stock offering.
NYX opened at $69.98, its high for the day was $80.50, and it closed at $80.00. Not bad for the first day of trading. You could have bought it months ago as Archipelago (AX), watched its value significaantly increase, and had your shares turned into NYX today.
