Non-Burr

Either it has warmed up, or the cold is no longer a big deal. I think it is some of both. Yesterday it was 5 degrees, sunny and a beautiful day to be out and about.

World Affairs

Our Friday luncheon speaker was Barbara, our former E. D. for the past 15 years. She is now president of the national organization of world affairs councils---World Affairs Councils of America. Her topic was Citizen Diplomacy in an Ailing World

My problem is that I am too busy with Admin Assistant items to hear what the speaker actually says.

Also, I can tell from the above picture (which will not load for some reason, probably thankfully) that I need to determine where I should stand in order to take decent photos of our speakers. It is difficult taking them against the light.

Friday Evening

Eleven of us had dinner with Barbara at the Crows Nest. Even though I was so tired I would have done almost anything not to go, it was a great evening---great conversation, marvelous food, and gracious surroundings. Except, I can not understand something---why do some people hold forth on what should and should not be done in Iraq without ever asking the two people at the table from Iraq about it. How can people be so totally presumptuous. I am ashamed of the arrogance.

Husband went to the UAA hockey game. Congrats to the Seawolves for winning. I went last night; they lost.
