According to IC Newcastle - Despite the race walking date in Hungary, Jackson is not prepared to desert the running side of athletics just yet.
She is likely to line-up in the North Eastern Track and Field Championships at Gateshead Stadium in 10 days time.
She said: "The NE Championships take place seven days before I compete in Hungary, so it means either training or racing over 5,000 metres and I feel racing is the better option.
"Hopefully, it will give me a competitive edge before the European Cup for I know that is going to be a tough competition.
"Lining up against Olympic walkers will be a bit daunting but I hope to gain as much experience from the occasion as possible."
"Ideally, I would like to get under one hour 42 minutes which is the A qualifying time for the European Under-23 Championships.
"However, I will not be disappointed if I do not - as long as I come away with a personal best.
"I will give the race everything I have got for I know the more race walking I do the better I will become."
"I realise I am still an apprentice and I have a long way to go to compete at the highest level.
"However, I feel every time I put my race-walking shoes on there is a big chance of producing something special.
"I cannot wait to get to Hungary. I am thoroughly excited about the prospect and hopefully I can come away with another pb."
