I was just working on my blogroll and noticed that I don't have a diverse enough set of people I have listed on there. Of course, I only list about 1/8th of what I read every day. I gotta work on that. I'm just a lazy bum, what can I say?
I haven't written much about my son lately. I'm off to see him sing in a Christmas special. He's such a fun kid and brings so much joy into everyone's lives who he touches. I'll try to bring him in here more.
I'm so pissed I didn't get time to talk with everyone at dinner last night. I guess I'll just have to read their blogs! Here's a list.
Hey, remember that old saying "dog bites man isn't news, but if man bites dog, now that gets on the front page?" Well, doggone it, here's a doggy weblog. Now, when will we see a story about a dog biting a weblogger? Woof.
NEC's fax lines in Sacramento went down yesterday. I needed to get a fax to them. What to do? Visit http://www.efax.com and sign up for a fax number. Fax the faxes to that number. Then email the faxes over to Sacramento. Whew. Efax saved my life and helped us log $90,000 in POs yesterday. Great service! Even better, now I have an electronic archive of the faxes.
OK, I am noticing a new weblog design trend. Sites like Phil Ringnalda's and Lisa Rein's use a font color that's nearly impossible to read. Hey, if it's a plot to get me to subscribe to their RSS feed I like it. It still sucks as design, though. Listen: weblogs are all about words. Why can't you freaks make it easy to read your crap? This isn't a video game design we're talking about.
I'm still playing with comment systems for Radio UserLand. The one I am using right now (HaloScan) only works if you visit http://radio.weblogs.com/0001011/ . If you visit http://scoble.weblogs.com it doesn't show up. I must have done something wrong. I'd love feedback on the comment system. Which one is your favorite and why?
Dinner was great last night. At the table I saw Bob Frankston. Marc Canter. Doc Searls. Dave Winer. and a whole lot of other people. It's weird, too. Exclusive? Shit, anyone could have sat down with us and had dinner. Everyone thinks JingJing's is some sort of shrine. I used to eat there a lot for lunch when I worked at Fawcette. So, did I learn anything for my $20 investment? Nah. But I had a great time and came away inspired to do better work. That alone is worth $20.
