I'm so sick of religious wackos. Why don't we all just send them all to the Middle East so the rest of us can live in peace?

John Robb: Unfortunately, in my opinion this area [home networks] is not ready to explode for 3-5 more years, all the factors aren't in place yet.

John's right. Not enough people have multiple computers at home yet that require networking. 802.11 is cool when you get a laptop, but laptops are just starting to see enough market penetration to get interesting.

What really will push home networks is when people buy a new tablet computer to go with their desktop computers. And when they need to bring laptops and pocket computers home from work.

I've lived within 60 miles of San Francisco for more than 30 years and somehow never got to the Legion of Honor museum. I don't know how I missed the chance to look at stuff by Monet, Picasso, Renoir, Rodin, along with awesome views of San Francisco. All for $8. Who said there aren't good deals in tourism anymore?

I can't wait to show Ernie the Attorney around the city. He's coming out in August. One week isn't enough, but then one week in New Orleans wasn't enough either.

"Why are there so many nudes in museums?" my son Patrick asked. Artists do seem to appreciate the human body quite often in the work. Hell, if I was an artist I'd probably do the same thing.

Oh, I note that the museum was started by the Spreckels' family. Don't recognize that name? They had a large sugar business here in California.

Anyway, if you're in San Francisco, you shouldn't miss at least a short visit to this magnificent museum.

Sam Gentile: "It's the runtime stupid!" (Any programmer who wants to start learning .NET should read Sam's rant first).
