Drivel:  The "Ranking by Page-Reads" link under Cloud Links on the Radio desktop homepage hasn't been doing me a lot of good lately.  My blog doesn't get a lot of page-reads, and I'm okay with this for the time being.  I would like to see where I fall in the Weblogs.com rankings, but I have no way to do this.  I would also like to see other blogs around mine.  Ideally, five or ten above and below me so I can get to know my neighbors here in the gheto.  There are also people who are untouchable when it comes to page-reads.  Perhaps these blogs should be promoted to celebrity status.  This is not a request, complaint, or rant -- just something I was thinking about.  12:35:05 AM   comments ()

Drivel:  Playing with NetNewsWire inspired me to add another category to my blogging software outline for RSS news readers, or new aggregators.  Wow!  There are more news aggregators out there any you can shake a stick at!  There are so many that I resorted to putting up putting up a couple of links to other lists, even though I hate doing this.  These will come down as I weed through the applications.  12:19:11 AM   comments ()

Drivel:  I downloaded and gave NetNewsWire a whirl this evening.  I have an iBook onloan from one of my clients.  It was very easy to install and use.  It is a great news aggregator.  It reminded me a lot of the early NNTP clients, but prettier and no way to post.  The only thing missing from NetNewsWire, and all news aggregators I have used thus far, is a way to organize subscriptions.  NetNewsWire is a great illustration of why I need a way to organize my subscriptions -- it ships with literally hundreds of RSS feeds prepackaged.  12:03:47 AM   comments ()
