Drivel:  We launched the new Bank Street College of Education web site tonight!!  It is powered by Manila and served by Apache from a G4.  Manila serves as the content management back-end for all of the divisions, departments, and editors within these organizations.  There are approximately 50 editors managing the two dozen individual Manila sites that comprise the www.bankstreet.edu domain.  We have just begun to scratch the surface of what can be done with Frontier/Manila.  There are about a dozen more legacy sites to stuff into Manila over the next couple of weeks.  A CGI/script processing server/Manila site needs to be created to handle the dynamic parts of their site.  We are also going to test some new and interesting configurations for Manila that leverage shared Network Attached Storage (NAS) in hopes in hopes of producing a highly scalable configuration.  I am also going to be pushing weblogs into Bank Street in the coming months via Manila and Radio.  12:25:37 AM   comments ()
