Scheduled outage coming here
I'm gonna take a quick break, and spend some quality time with family and some folks I haven't seen in a while. See everyone on Sunday, and I'll backfill some of the results. 1:17:34 PM [] blah blah blah'd on this
Nothing to confess here, Al
About working at an institution of higher education, yes, some of the software is cheaper, but I still shelled out my eleven cents a day for Radio, just like everyone else. I only have to pay US$5 for MS products, including Office. Some might say that means I'm still paying too much for it, though. We do have quite a number of serious *nix geeks around, so that's cool with OS X now having BSD underpants. Some things I really appreciate are the very fat Internet pipe, the high-quality ISP and IT services provided by the folks near my cube, and the fact that there is enough competition in town to help keep quality beer prices down, and make a fair amount of exotic foods available, too. Remember that parking sucks like an imploding star, housing prices are insane, and now that I've aged up to the next level of Nielsen viewer demographics, the gender majority issue would be a non-issue. I've seen the 'comb-over in a convertible' (even sadder is just the bar-code hair style without the convertible) crowd around here, and have some friends who have standing orders to euthanize me if I ever get that middle-age crazy. As a married guy, the 54% majority of one gender on this campus is not really a factor, anyway (SHE is seated right behind me, currently -- wtf are you asking me about that right now, dude? Sheesh.). BTW, about Jeff's comment that you aren't geek. Remember that there are different levels of geek (kinda like the different circles of Hell). Don't ever let anyone try to convince you that you aren't geek. I know that you are a gen-u-ine Almond Roca carrying geek. 1:04:49 PM [] blah blah blah'd on this
Giant Rabbit, Giant Rabbit! No, not really possible... Someone who obviously has had a rough time recently (perhaps they did see Eight Legged Freaks), has decided to take it out on those of us who enjoy a certain genre of movies, and attempting to deflate many of the aspects than can make these movies fun (no direct mentions of abnormally proportioned women, though). The 10 staples of B-grade movies An odd sort of fluff piece, really, but potentially useful if you have some small ones who might need some reassurance about a scary flick they perhaps shouldn't have watched, in hindsight. 7:32:58 AM [] blah blah blah'd on this
