Hail to the Chief,  "Bello Osagie" that is...

Tonight I got a confidential e-mail from the Chief. I was surprised to hear from him as I couldn't remember that we had previously done business and I then checked the ActiveWords records and couldn't find where the Chief had either downloaded or bought a copy of our stuff. Then I looked through my client list and couldn't find the Chief there either.

However, the Chief went on to give me the opportunity of a life time. He suggested that in lieu of dealing with our government or the government of Nigeria, he wanted me to be on the inside of this little deal. But first I have to respond to his e-mail and then I assume that I will need to wire him some cash.

Thinking that he had mistaken me for either Scoble or Doc, I decided to forward this on to them. Scoble quickly suggested that this was a scam!

Who would have thought?

Alas, my one great opportunity to help the Chief and his chums in the Federal Government Contract Review Panel of Nigeria split up $21, 500,000. with me and my buddies. But as Chief Barnum suggested, perhaps not today.

By the way, I was thinking that one of the real things that technology needs to bring us is a spam reverter, one that allows you to take all the spam you get and forward it on to the Chief and his team. The net result being that Bello Osagie [b_osagie@altavista.com] could be totally inundated with all of the fine other opportunities that I get daily, and maybe he could come up some new ideas.

p.s. Who thinks up this stuff?
