Giants Streaky While Former SF Pitchers Star

Today was not a particularly good day to be a Giants fan. But in a young season, we've already had a goodly share of such good days and I'm sure more are on the way.

But today's sports headlines on one of my favorite sports sites lined up like hammer-blows:

Giants Blow Lead in Eighth as Rodriguez Blows Up
Estes Pitches One-Hitter as Mets Win
Burkett Leads Bosox Past Rays

Those headlines combined with the continued infuriating pitching success of the D-backs Duo and the uncanny ability of the Dodgers to blow into the Windy City on the heels of Giants' setbacks and take a 10-0 series-opening win was almost enough to make me cry.

The Giants are now in third. But it's a marathon and it's early.

Talk Giants on my discussion board.

Mac-Only Thinkers Beware the Darkworld

If you, like me, come from a largely Macintosh mind set, if you use Windows only when forced to and consider *nix to be the only user-hostile environment on the planet, I have two words of warning for you today.

AVOID DARWIN

No, I'm not talking about the scientist known as the chief proponent and discoverer of the role of evolution in biology. Darwin is the peculiar version of *nix that lurks just under the covers of OS X. It is a frightful place filled with the arcane and the dangerous. File permissions lurk there. And trust me when I tell you that you do not want to know about file permissions!

Read, if you dare, my article that explores this subject in greater depth.

Share your scary stories...and your successes...with me on my discussion board if you like.
