Random Apple sightings/events So I'm on the subway today going to a call, and I have my iBook out, reading some news, and this fellow engages me in conversation about Macs, Mac OS X, etc. Not that unusual, but 2 kinda extra cool things happened. As I'm on the "T" I see a sign for the Cambridge Galleria.

It's got a big Apple logo on it. Right next to the "Nike" logo. Kinda spiff.

Then, as we reach the fellow I was talking to's stop, I gave him a business card and he says thanks, and the woman sitting next to where we were talking asks for one too!. She gets up (It's her stop too) and says "thank you" for the card, and then says "And thank both of you for talking." It looks weird written down, but it was kinda cool.

Sherman!! Set the wayback machine to Wednesday night, 7PM!!

Ok, what happened;

I had my G4 hacked in Mac OS X to run as an Airport Base Station. Well, apparently Radio got this idea it was on the Airport. Sort of, and picked up an IP address of 0.0.0.0 (Now that's valid, eh?).

So I A) had to deactivate my the airport setup (I got my Base Station back anyways), and B) restarted Radio, and everything was hunky-dory. yeeesh. I hadn't noticed because I've been so busy, I've either been not posting, or I've been posting from the G4 anyways.

It makes me at least a little better that it was something there was no way I was going to fix remotely, so I'm glad I stayed with the Rule of Demo; "It you can't fix it within 1 minute, keep going before they throw fruit at you." No one threw anything last night, so either I did OK, or they forgot to bring fruit. :)

Well, I was going to post something insightful about the Middle East or Man's inhumanity to Man, but instead I'm going to sleep. :)

demoGods So I had my powerpoint presentation, I had some weblogs open and I had myself generally ready to do a Weblogs Presentation at BMac.

What didn't I have? The ability to post on my own bloody weblog. (seen here).

Luckily, lest I feel too stupid (figuring that it was some issue with my firewall setup or something), it appears I can't do it from home over the local network either. I'm getting some odd "denied" error. I'll work on it....

(Editor's note: Obviously it's working from the G4 running Radio. But not ANY machine other than this G4. Hmmm)

Now let's see if it's working...(from iBook on Airport)
