CDMA invades France. Well everyone else has done it... Readers may recall former Qualcomm engineer Stephen den Beste's critique of GSM services and how CDMA will eventually 0wnZ0r Europe. Well in today's Unstrung, we learn that a CDMA operator bought a French operator, and the period for comments to the French regulators closed today without incident. Interesting. Please refer all comments about Maginot Lines to the Warblog of your choice. Now CDMA needs a spokesperson like Catherine Zeta Jones, who apparently manipulates space and time if one is to believe T-Mobile's advertising. [More Like This WebLog]

I rarely understand anything that Bill say's, but that doesn't make it any less interesting.

Leonid Meteor Shower Peaks Tonight [Scientific American]

While we had clear skys, the show in downtown San Jose was hindered by city light and a near full moon. I saw three meteors in about 5 minutes. I hope that the show was better outside the city.

Under the right circumstances this meteor shower is awsome. I witnessed it on a clear night in Baja California in 1986 or 1987, where the meteors were coming at a rate of 3 to 4 per minute.
