MailEdit 1.0.2b4

I've made a beta release of MailEdit available. The stable release is still available at mailEdit.root.

The beta release is located at http://radio.weblogs.com/0100039/gems/mailEdit/beta/mailEdit.root

The current version is 1.0.2b4, and features the #upload directive, with a few new preference options, like event logging and confirmation emails.

moblogging guide

David Davies wrote a nice moblogging guide, which both of the links I listed previously have been commenting on.

Let me just say that I like AssetManager. I think it's well done. I found out about it after I had started my MailEdit effort. I haven't used it, so I'm not going to do any real comparisons with it, other than to say what I said previously -- from what I've seen, we have different areas of focus.

The latest entry here is complimentary as well.

I don't wish to create a war between MailEdit and AssetManager, though. They have different focuses. There is some overlap in functionality, but we go about it in different ways.

My sole focus so far has been making it simpler to do full-featured posting to my weblog via my Sidekick. It has some added benefits, like making it easier to post when I'm away from my desktop at home, but my focus from the beginning has been moblogging.
