macworld keynote

Just read the synopsis of the MacWorld Keynote over at MacCentral.

The new Mini-iPod is nice, but a little more expensive than I'd expected. Still, flash based players seem to solidly occupy that price point. Must be the cost of 4G's of flash memory.

The G5 Xserve's were exactly what I thought they would be. Cool, but not unexpected.

What I'm looking forward to is GarageBand. I've been looking for a decent multitrack audio program that didn't cost a lot. I'm not a pro, I just want to be able to play with the tools, and until Digidesign ports ProTools Free to Mac OS X, it looks like GarageBand is the best choice. Plus, the included loops sound like they would be fun.

Add to that improvements to iPhoto, iMovie, and iDVD, and $49 doesn't sound so bad.

I suppose I should mention

I suppose I should mention that the link I pointed to in my previous post talks about using Perl References to get around the list problems I was talking about.

Thanks for all the help, though.
