random stuff I'd never seen the del.icio.us site before, at least not until someone put a link to one of my posts on it. I could have used this site the other day while I was struggling to come up with a favicon. Trivia quiz -- who can tell me what my favicon is? The two people I've already told are hereby disqualified. Tomorrow is GarageBand day. I finished "Art & Fear," I would say about 2/3's of it can be directly applied to the sort of coding I was talking about (recreational coding). Someone asked me if my talking about art and coding meant that I didn't like specs. I do like specs. I like to know exactly where I'm supposed to end up. If I'm getting paid to produce results, it's nice to know what those results are. But if I'm working on a personal project, I don't want to kill it because it took on a different direction. I'd rather see where it ends up. Many interesting and satisfying projects have happened because I let the code take me where it wanted to go. (Okay, that sounded more "woo-woo" than I'd like.)
