Our mail server is acting up and I have received notification of this event more than half a dozen times!  (I am not complaining though).  Michelle Lamberson and Karen Belfer have done a lot of work to get this going.

Electronic Portfolios: More than a 21st Century Resume

Date: December 5, 2003
Time: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Location:
UBC Robson Square Theatre C300

Overview
Digital technologies are transforming the ways students and professionals represent themselves and their work to employers, colleagues, clients and the community. A new breed of software products are emerging that scaffold our ability to collect, select, reflect, and present distinct views of work and learning products - Electronic Portfolios. E-Portfolios are personalized, web-based collections of work, responses to work and reflections used to demonstrate skills and accomplishments. They are dynamic communication tools, open to customization for multiple purposes.

Emerging e-Portfolio software systems enable users to store work in a repository, add personal commentary, provide selective access to individuals or the public, and invite feedback from others. The flexible structure of e-Portfolios supports school-based learning, lifelong learning and professional practice. During this one day session the creative and practical applications of e-Portfolios will be explored in detail through demonstrations and discussion.
