Blog Talk has been an exercise in following weak ties. Lunch today was great - and also revealed several new references for mobile learning environments. Anu mentioned Jabberwocky - an application for Java equipped cell phones to allow identification of 'familiar strangers'. Mikel mentioned the Urban Tapestry project in London (and later sent along a reference for a project embedding RFID tags in trees in Washington). Barbara Ganley mentioned (several times over the last three days) Pierre Levy's Collective Intelligence 8:32:15 AM | # | | trackback []

Day 2 of BlogTalk 2.0 in Vienna. Despite nearly falling asleep everyday at 5pm, I am finding the environment very stimulating. We are using SubEthaEdit in all of the sessions; these transcripts are being uploaded immediately to this wiki. SEE was new to some of the people here, but within 20 minutes most were collaboratively editing documents like professionals. Rules of engagement were negotiated in real time. Interestingly, Lee Bryant uploaded a very detailed outline of his talk into SEE prior to presenting. This seemed to constrain discussion a bit (IMHO). In the past I have found that having _some_ structure in a SEE document is very useful. 3:04:39 AM | # | | trackback []
