My iRiver is a charm.

I usually wear my iPod proudly. Unfortunately I have had a fair bit of bad luck with my audio equipment lately. My iPod was recently named as part of the infamous 3rd Generation batch and I am unable to use it longer than 45 minutes. iTunes has served me well most of the time, but every time I switch computers (which I have done about 8 times in the last few years) I end up losing a couple of songs.

I think my luck has changed. On the recommendations of Alan Levine and Nick Noakes, I picked up an iRiver. It was cheap (around $150 CAD) and compact.

While not as cute as an iPod, it records - both through a built in mic and through microphone jacks. While it is a little difficult to navigate the controls, the headphones are made by Sennheiser and are the best headphones I've had in several years.

I am now working my way through creating several podcasts (on Learning Spaces) and will be posting them soon.
