Accessibility on Mac OS Tiger One of my favourite meetings is the Apple Insitute for Educators. 200 Apple fanatics 'camp' out with all of their technology in a undisclosed location in California and have a 96 hour 'love in' talking about teaching, technology and practice. The group is incredibly creative with skills that include audio, video, storytelling, internet culture and everything in between. I am in extreme conference mode right now (actually taking a moment out and sitting in park that has Wifi!) and getting overloaded with all the ideas, practices and dreams. I will be delicious-ing as much as I can but wanted to post about Vision. Alan November gave the plenary this morning and used a stunning effect in his presentation. While googling, Alan was able to zoom in on his search. In an effect reminiscent of the best scene in Blade Runner, Alan was able to do a series of magnification jumps to zoom in on the screen! A distracting moment to be sure, but one that appealed to my film sensibilities. I don't know how long this capability has been built into the OS, but discovering it made the day. Watch for it in my future presentations and screencasts. :-) 8:18:29 AM | # | |
