I've been replacing the 192kb MP3 encoding of my CDs with 160kb AAC with iTunes 4. AAC made my original 5Gb iPod sound like a new, better device (which also holds more music because of the improved compression). The improvement is quite noticeable (or maybe it's placebo effect...). The brass in What Goes Around (Dave Holland Big band) is cleaner, brighter (a great recording even if big band jazz is not part of your usual diet). 1:36:34 PM
