My latest expedition to my favorite record store, aka music, yielded:
  1. Reveries, Paolo Conte
  2. Nuages, Django Reinhardt
  3. Temporal, Radio Tarifa
  4. Astrakan café, Anouar Brahem Trio
  5. The Intercontinentals, Bill Frisell et al
  6. Solo album by Tonino Baliardo (Gipsy Kings' guitarist)
1-4 are excellent throughout. 5-6 have some very good tracks (Vinicius Cantuaria is excellent in 5), but some others are a bit derivative. I'll have to listen more to refine the recommendations. I'm listening now to the 7th purchase, Lalo Schifrin live at the Blue Note. Good so far. Irony: four of these CDs are issued by Nonesuch, a division of the Warner Music Group. I heard those musicians first on Idiot's Delight, which I can no longer listen to because of the DMCA. The DCMA is the handiwork of the RIAA and the music industry. In other words, the Warner Music Group lobbied to undermine my ability to buy their product. Brilliant.
