time management is bull. time, like the clock says is cyclical and the only thing you need to do is to manage your relation to its cycles. we all know this in the back of our minds and yet many of us treat time as if it was a sequential thing that was about to run out. so we panic, so we try to 'manage' it instead of our relationship to it. its really a fairly straightforward mistake that is self-rectified in our better moments.

ping'd two time managers this morning to see if they had any 'c' or 'd' level things on their list. "nope, just 'a's and 'b's this week; its all so important". i'm not buying it

a good friend reminded me today that "once people get over discovering that you really are a fire-breathing dragon they can love you for what you do". cute. the statement.. and she.

"we're just rewriting our business plan again to get new funding"  -- i heard that twice today. totally different scenarios, different people, different games.

they think wrong. one's only ruined his own fortune, the other has run through double digit millions. neither are bad people, or have truly bad intentions, what both had/have in common was an unawareness of their respective linear thinking prisons.  (a causes b therefore i must do x because there is no other choice than to follow this rule..)

i'm getting much better in making rapport and see that in the playfull spirit in which these comments were ultimately made. it saddens me that my ultimate target audience, the people that are to fund these folks, are going to loose time and money with them once more. ..  while i'm not saying that anyone's out to rip anyone else off, those were the plans of '99, i'm appalled by how we all can get stuck in trying harder, not smarter.

i pray for the ongoing strength to not fall in that trap again. how how i do that is my business... which reminds me of the mormon headhunters that descended on the lady next to me in the laundromat the other day... ask them "where is god" to save your fellow-men.. stick with the question. none i've met have ever degraded gracefully from it. and soon you will have your quiet union again as they find that everyone in such a place will look at them extremely funny when they tell you he's a regular somewhere. a regular guy without a need for dentistry or any kind or brand of toothpaste. more wrong thinking.. but no money in optimizing them.  i've yet to bring the conversation there and ask what it would mean to 'be in god' as they say elsewhere. not worth the time. a lot of things really are not. like going on with this post :)
