Techdirt:Rejection Lowers Your IQ:
"This can't be good. It seems that a new study says that people who are "rejected" by others have their IQ drop by about 25%. That's pretty significant. Past studies have shown that people who were rejected are more aggressive and violent - so now we have dumber, more aggressive and violent people who are upset that they've been rejected.
I'm not sure how much I buy the results of the study, though. It says that IQ dropped 25% immediately on the person being rejected. Isn't the whole point of IQ that it's supposed to stay fairly constant? Also, how long does the effect last? Is it permanent? That makes no sense. So, is it a momentary rage that takes over the brain and makes you dumb, angry, and violent until civilization kicks back in? All I know is that my IQ is low enough as is. Don't expect me to ask any women out for a date in a long time. It's just way too risky..."
