Wikis are a great example of magic that the Internet generates. I still can not figure out why they work, how they keep vandals from wrecking the community, why people make the effort. It is a lot like the bumblebee myth. Hard to explain how they fly but they do. Wikipedia has some of the best and simplest entries for a wide range of topics. I use it all the time. If you tried to explain a wiki before creating it, everyone would say it could not work, But by ignoring the criticisms and just doing it, we can see something neat.  9:10:27 PM
