An uncomfortable backdrop.... An uncomfortable backdrop to the Abu Ghraib story is the knowledge that various sorts of abuse are endemic throughout the American prison system. Not too surprisingly, the apparent 'ringleaders' in Abu Ghraib were from the US penal system. They seemed to have had important roles in 'educating' those with less experience. Seems we might have been doing similar things to our own citizens.  comment []9:53:12 PM
