Baseball Hall of Fame Un-American
Mick LaSalle writes in today's Chronicle that the Baseball Hall of Fame cancelled a tribute to Bull Durham, one of the best baseball movies of all time, due to the politics of two of its stars. This is a craven, disgusting, un-American. Didn't the right used to talk about "political correctness" and say that was wrong? Now we have to be "patriotically correct" or our livelihoods are threatened. Makes you sick. If I were Pete Rose, now I'd be proud not to be here.

Robin Hood Mentality. Soaking the Rich This post probably won't be very well received in this forum which is mostly consisted of lefties, but can you really justify stealing such a disproportionate amount from the rich? [from Metafilter]
1. Well, they're the ones that have the money. 2. The rich benefit disproportonatly from what American society provides. 3. The rich have more influence in the directions of government than poor. You don't see the rich demonstrating en masse for, say, no taxes on dividends bcause they don't have to. 3. The rich spend a smaller proportion of their money on necessities, such as food, shelter and health care. 4. "As you do to the least of your brothers, so you do unto me." 5. "Render unto Caeser what is Caesar's."
