No Heart?

NO HEART?....Look, I know this is just a juvenile little cheap shot — which is why I saved it for today — but really, what's going on here? Is George Bush buttoning his jacket? Is he suffering from a touch... [Political Animal]

Rebuilding Brian Wilson's 'Smile'

Thirty-seven years ago, Brian Wilson nearly completed what he hoped would be his masterwork. This year, in a way, he finished it. [The New York Times > Arts]

Good night!

Last night was a good evening for yours truly. Played at a tournament-style no-limit hold 'em poker game. 15 players were in for $20 each. I didn't have a lot in the way of expectations, but I played pretty tight, was helped early on by pocket Aces which I played well. I ended up in the money, going out in third place. A higher finish was in my grasp at one point, in an all-in hand by the two women ahead of me, but it went the wrong (and unexpected) way. No matter. I had a good time, did much better than I expected to. Still, one evening does not a poker player make.

Did Bush camp err on ballot papers?

As seen below, this is the continuing difference between liberal and conservative:
Florida Democratic Party chairman Scott Maddox said he knew the president's certificate of nomination did not reach the state until Sept. 2, but he said he decided not to make an issue of it.

'To keep an incumbent president off the ballot in a swing state the size of Florida because of a technicality, I just don't think would be right,' Maddox said.

You can bet if the shoewas on the other foot, there would be some complaining. Until the Democrats are willing to fight hammer and tong, the Republicans will continue to roll over them. You are still a lose, even if it you are noble. [A Man with a Ph.D. - Richard Gayle's Weblog]
