Have you ever contacted your representative's office? It is like talking to an automated system. Even if you get a "real" voice, the response itself is automated. Have you ever voiced your opinion on public policy? Since most of us do not vote, it's likely you haven't. The fact is that people have lost all trust in a system that never seems to hear them, or understand. And Congress is just another large industry with poor customer service.

I have tried contacting my representative's office, and getting an automated response would have been an improvement. Of course, I live in Los Angeles where the candidates from both parties are socialists. As a Libertarian, there's no chance at all that my vote will ever matter.
