That'll work real well. Arafat's death was a necessary prerequisite for peace between Israel and the Arabs, but it certainly isn't enough by itself. At best it would have given the chance for someone who genuinely cared about the people he ruled and wanted peace to take power. However, given the situation with the conquest of Iraq and the Feds' saber-rattling at other countries in the area, I think there's very little chance of that happening. Far more likely either Hamas will absorb the PLO, or someone just as murderous will replace Arafat.
