Here is a shameless plug for the newly renovated and excellent Underworld website, with which I have absolutely nothing to do, but it is so good that I just had to remind you of it. Look out for the downloadables.

A quick note about Underworld, for those who might not know—they are the legendary two-man electronic dance band that is also a core component of legendary art/design collective Tomato.

Former Perth hairdresser and now superstar London-based make-up artist Val Garland has been working with superstar British fashion photographer Nick Knight for some years.
Val is featured on Nick’s new online publishing venture SHOWstudio by way of an interview and some movies. I found the SHOWstudio link via another online venture by Australians, this time located in New York—HintMag.

I placed an order for the new Underworld CD/album at JB Hi-Fi on the weekend. They tell me that although the official Australian release date is the 16th they expect copies to arrive here on the 23rd, a week later.
I am so pleased I grabbed the single when I did—I have not seen copies of it anywhere else yet. Same story with the very late Australian release of New Order’s new single Here to Stay—one copy in one obscure record store.

I went to the presentation on Mac OS X 10.2—Jaguar—held by Apple Australia at Burswood on Thursday, and I was amazed at how many people were there. Perth has the smallest percentage of Apple computer users anywhere (so it feels like), but you would not know that by the numbers there that day.
Then when the keynote was over I left the hall, and could barely move in the exhibition space in the foyer, for all the extra people who had arrived in the meantime.

My internet access has been pretty spotty for the last week. In fact, for the last month. So updating this weblog has not been the easiest task.
It has been made a little harder by the fact that my new 17-inch iMac still has not arrived yet. I try to do far too much simultaneously on this ancient Mac clone, and it does not always like it.
