The excellent Digital Photography Review magazine has an article on an early version of the Foveon chip.

This is what I have been waiting for, a camera that uses the Foveon chip, a much superior technology than current digital cameras.
Expect other manufacturers to begin adopting it as it proves itself, and look for sudden price drops in current cameras as their technology is discarded.

God, I love East Perth. Even now, when it is being gentrified so much and the much promised maintenance of an active, living arts community presence is being trampled on by the developers.

Hmm, in the light of that last post, I wonder if I should be keeping both computers at the office? Do I really need one at home?
I will have to think long and hard about that one.

Part of the reason I have not been writing weblog posts is that the ancient Mac clone has been at the office in East Perth while I have been at home when in a weblog frame of mind. And that especially includes weekends.
I just got word that my 17-inch iMac has finally arrived in Perth. That means this machine will be going home shortly, and the iMac will be my work computer. I am in two minds about that—it would be terrific to have the iMac at home so I can catch up with my movie-viewing. But it is better off here. I do so much simultaneous multitasking now that it is dangerous using Mac OS 9. X copes outstandingly well at that kind of thing. 9 does not.
The iMac is also needed here so I can begin refamiliarizing myself with movie editing, this time digitally. One thing becomes very clear when you begin doing all your work on computers—one is not enough. Especially when doing all the different things I tend to do at the same time.
So I will be adding machines as I need them, and as the jobs that are big enough to pay for them arrive.
