I was at Boffins Bookshop just now in the city, flicking through the advertising bookshelves amongst other things, and came across yet another book featuring Tim Delaney of The Leagas Delaney Partnership in London, where I used to work.
I had read snatches of unfortunate news about the agency late last year and early this one, about staff members resigning, and clients leaving. I wonder what has happened to them all? Seems chairman Bruce Haines also resigned and went to Leo Burnett in London as CEO, while continuing his role as president of the IPA (Institute of Practitioners in Advertising). Nice guy, Bruce, but the contact I had with him was all too brief.
I can find nothing recent about Tim Delaney or the agency on the web, now. And their web site reveals nothing new.

If at all interested in Information Architecture and Information Design, or in simply being a good designer, you must not pass by Edward Tufte’s superb books.
I used to read them all the spare time I had at an ad agency where they were in the collection of a copywriter. I could never find copies locally, but one day I will track them down and buy them all. They are priceless. They are expensive because they are self-published in hardcover by the American author.
The books’ samizdat status probably explains where they are so hard to find in bookstores. But now Edward Tufte has a website.

Matt Brown, Macromedia DWMX community manager, says (via Paolo Valdemarin):
“Briefly, this is a client tool as you note, that is designed to work with CMS systems not replace them. For now though the only file transfer mechanism is FTP. The product is extensible though as it is built on the DMX codebase. I think more details on that will come out in time.”

Zeldman says:
“The Mac version will include an embedded copy of Opera 7, with greatly improved DOM support.”
Great news. Hope that Opera 7 finds its way into the next revision of Dreamweaver. It needs a decent published page view. I have tried using Opera 6 for Mac OS X as a web browser. Complete waste of space. Trash. Horribly slow on a fast machine. Mediocre standards support.
