Audblog interview with Noah Glass

This week I emailed Noah Glass about doing an Audioblogging interview, a Multimedia Conversation about his new tool Audblog.  The plan is for me to ask the questions of the interview through my weblog and have Noah answer the questions through his Audioblogging tool Audblog.

Introduction to Noah Glass and his blogging tool Audblog.

Intro:

The following are the first 3 questions of the interview:

1) What inspired you to create Audblog?

Question:

Answer: Powered by audblogaudblog audio post

2) How does Audblog work and what are the costs?

Question:

Answer: Powered by audblogaudblog audio post

2a) Is the number I call when using the service a toll free number?

Question:

Answer: Powered by audblogaudblog audio post

2b) What happens if I don't like what I said, can I erase the clip and start over?  What if I want to erase the audio file a week later.  How to I interface with the system to do that?  Is it 12 sessions called into Audblog or 12 files stored on Audblog for $3.00 per month.

Question:

Answer:Powered by audblogaudblog audio post

2c) Is there a feature for personal notes so I can leave an audioblog note "to self" and not "to world"?

Question:

Answer: Powered by audblogaudblog audio post

3) What has been the response to Audblog and audioblogging in general?

Question:

Answer: Powered by audblogaudblog audio post

3a) From your response this far, do you see any vertical markets or fields interested more than others?  Or are we at the stage where people are experimenting and trying to get their brains around the idea?

Question:

Answer: Powered by audblogaudblog audio post

If you have any questions about Audblog that you would like to ask Noah Glass, post them in the comments section as text or as an audio file (if possible).

Disclaimer: I am an amateur interviewer and this is the first time I have ever performed an audioblogging interview (I don't of anyone formally doing this before).  This means we get to make up the rules as we go.

Sony's Network Walkman

Gizmodo -> Sony's Network Walkman.

NW-MS70D.jpgNew portable digital audio player from Sony called the Network Walkman NW-MS70D that comes with 256MB of internal memory and a slot for Sony MagicGate Memory Stick Duo memory cards. It's not clear whether the NW-MS70D will play MP3s, or just songs in Sony's proprietary ATRAC3 format.

Blogger wars?

Scripting News -> Blogger wars?.

Next topic. On Wednesday last week at a meeting unrelated to weblogs, a Microsoft exec let it slip casually (heh) that the next version of FrontPage does blogging. I have my doubts, it's probably the same way word processors in the 80s did outlining, but the hype is already beginning.

Let's not let this be like the browser wars. I would like Google to continue to support the 1.0 version of the Blogger API for the forseeable future. This would help me encourage Microsoft to also support that very adequate Evan-designed API, so that all the momentum in wizzy blogging tools will continue even while the BigCo's are slugging it out in this peaceful land.

Of course I'd like them to support RSS 2.0 as well. And the MetaWeblog API. And I have some ideas about OPML. Please also use our feed of updates to non-Blogger weblogs. It's there for you to use. Please do.

Is a blog a start-up?

The Doc Searls Weblog -> And you don't stiff suppliers for millions when your "company" disappears without a trace.

Halley: Is a blog a start-up?

A blog is a slate and chalk — a drawing board for innovation. A wonderfully forgiving, fluid, networked place to think and collaborate with colleagues. Is it any surprise so many entrepreneurs and entrepreneuses are using this interface to create new ways of working and thinking and sharing information?

One advantage: you don't have to subordinate your dream to your investors' need to make money off it.
