How to search Google for Audblog posts

I surfed a lot of new audioblogging sites tonight (as you can see from the posts below).  I found them all using Google.

It's easy.  Just search Google with the phrase "audblog audio post" (the phrase Audblog embeds in all it's posts).

It was interesting to hear how everyone's experimenting with the tool.  Reminds me of last year when Radio was first introduced.  Remember all the "testing...123" pages?  That's where we are right now.  It's going to be fun and exciting to watch all this mature to the next level.

If it wasn't for Audblog,  I would have never had a reason to visit any of these sites.  Audioblogging, at least for now may be a way to get your weblog noticed.

Pretty cool!!

Let me try Audblog while I repair my PC

www.sapientum.com -> Having just tried out the new Audioblog service it has left me wondering if it is really a development for the better. The one great thing about blogging is that it is a showcase for the written word. It is very hard to be spontaneously interesting when one is leaving a message down a phone and I take time over writing my blogs. I don't know about you but I am certainly of the opinion that my writing is a good deal better than my spontaneous speaking. Take a listen and see what you think.

I think it's nifty. I'm here in the US and get to hear a British accent.  I share your reservation on speaking vs. writing. If I'm writing I can take all the time I want to phrase something , whereas if I'm speaking (for a recording) I better have all my thoughts in a row. Not that my blog shows effort. It's just a little diary.

blue red orange -> Audblog
Powered by audblogaudblog audio post

Now that I am at work... I signed up for an audio blogging service called audblog where you can post audio messages to your blog via a phone call. The most practical use of course is blogging on the road where you have no computer access and only a phone line. Now I really have no excuse not to blog when something really cool hits me.

"Hey, this is my first audblog post. I think its great that all I need to do is to dial in my post. I haven’t figured out yet what I’m going to use this for, but I think it’d be great for emergencies, e.g. if something happened to you and you wanted to let ppl know that you were alright.. or amateur reporting.. e.g. what if you were caught in the middle of a newsworthy event, you could use audblog to report on what’s going on.. In fact, I’d be really interested in seeing this service used as such, because I think it’d be a great asset for up to the minute reporting, especially since the second gulf war is nearly upon us.

I don’t think there is any other event on the radar that could help define this service in the mainstream.

Speaking of which, I wonder how we could donate some audblog time and maybe some phone cards to bloggers in Iraq.. to make this happen, (brief hesitation) that way they could keep in touch.. What do you think?"

Maybe it is a manifesto

Marc's Voice -> Noah makes the scene, with a gandster lean.

I know Noah is upset with me for not using Audblog - YET - but I don't use Blogger and apparently the Radio<->Audblog connections, well let's just say - delayed.  So....

Here's some comments Noah left on Joi's blog:

I suppose that this is general response to the skeptics ...or maybe it is a manifesto.

Did painters hope that early photography would remain a niche art from despite the burgeoning artists who felt compelled to express themselves in this new and exciting way? Did the photographers hope that filmmaking would remain a niche medium for expression despite the obvious impact conveyed by those who could use it skillfully? We as a community are multi-media-lingual…but we are like so many of my Latino friends that I grew up with who could understand Spanish perfectly but could not speak a word of it. Maybe we haven’t been able to become multimedia fluent because the barrier of entry was too high…The tools to cumbersome and isolating. Well, the barrier has just been reduced to almost nothing…and in the process of learning to use these new tools we are going to be self conscious…and we are going to stutter, and we are going fumble with our words as we learn to communicate in this new way. BUT, there will be those among us who will become multi-media-fluent. And they will be able to express themselves in the mass arena in ways we haven’t even begun to explore yet.

"Audioblogging live"

What is "audioblogging live"?

The questions that come to mind:

Isn't "live audio streaming" like Shoutcast the same as "audioblogging live" ? ( I'll give you the answer to this one now. NO!!  Live streaming audio is live streaming audio.  "audioblogging live" is not at all centered around streaming the audio of a realtime event.)

Can you really "audioblog live" an event and not make it just another audio file/stream with bad audio? Does it make any sense to "audioblog live" a realtime event?

What makes "audioblogging live" different than say live WIFI text blogging?

Why is it different than "live audio streaming"?

Has anyone done it?  How would you do it? Is anything special needed to do it?

In the past week we seen some cool examples of a new emerging audioblogging format "audioblogging interviewing" (realtime and non-realtime) made possible with the new exciting audioblogging enabling technology of Audblog

If you think about it, from a blogging centric perspective, live audio streaming is really just a link out of a post to a unicasted or multicasted stream.  Old Internet technology that's been around for almost 10 years.  Been there, done that. But what about "audioblogging live" as an audioblogging format.  I give you a hint.  It's not about live audio streaming.

In the next couple of days I start to answer the above questions and discussing  my views and opinions on where we're heading with this exciting audioblogging format.

Noah has breakfast with Joi Ito

Noah E. Glass -> Breakfast with Joi Ito -> Breakfast with Joi Ito and company…Man! I have to do that again. There is really nothing like waking up early in the morning and hanging out with people who are planning the future. Not just the individual concept of future, but the collective future...Or as Joi might put it the…Common future. Joi’s vision is refreshing, hip and aligned with anti-globalization sentiments just enough to be rebellious, intellectual enough to be taken seriously, and practical enough to be feasible. Excellent combo! Joi is planning the future. NOW. And in my opinion, the future is looking good. Read Emergent Democracy
