Out of Control, But I Like It
Media Mind -> "We have reached the point of serious blogging, right? We have kicked it up notches with photoblogging. Now, as many of you have recently learned, Audioblogging has recently taken off, or I should say has been incepted and is trying to take off (which I do believe it will), but NOW we have the new Mobileblogging or Moblog concept, which is audioblogging but on a mobile device from various places. Pretty wild when you think about how something like this can further tweak the world of communications amongst us. Here is a cool blog that I found on that very subject with one of its pioneers. This stuff is wild."

Webloggers on weblogging
Webloggers on weblogging.
Michael Gartenberg -> "Well, if you see my last post, you should get the idea that we are having these conversations and expect to have a lot more of them between now and June. Anyone want to put me intouch with Evan so we can get him involved as well? And of course keep those cards and letters coming."

Bluetooth MP3 player/cellphone headset
Gizmodo -> And one more from Sony Ericsson: a Bluetooth MP3 player that comes with a built-in microphone so it can double as a headset for any Bluetooth-enabled phone. When a call comes in, the HBM-30 automatically mutes the music so you can decide whether or not to take the call, and uses Sony Memory Stick PRO for storage. Read [Gizmodo]

Forums and RSS
Greg Reinacker's Weblog -> Well, this flies in the face of what Joel has been saying, but I have added a RSS feed for the NewsGator forums. The feed contains the 20 most recent posts.
I'm not sure this would work well for extremely high-traffic forums, but for the current volume in the NewsGator forums, I think it works pretty well. At very least it's handy for me, so I can easily be notified when there's a new post there.
The forums are using the ASP.NET forums code; if anyone else is using this code, and wants to generate a RSS feed from them, let me know and I'll be happy to send you the code.

I can't wait to we get to rule and event driven RSS feeds. Cool stuff. H.G.

RV park Wi-Fi
80211b News -> RV park Wi-Fi: RV parks start cutting the cord in a natural combination of folks moving around while wanting to stay connected. The charges are just $2.50 per day or $21 per month in the example cited. [via Jim Sullivan] [80211b News]

Dave stops writing glue code to create audio weblog posts in Radio
Scripting News -> "I had a long talk with Justin from Audblog last night, and we decided to scrap the XML-RPC polling interface for a couple of reasons. First, it would be error-prone. I kept getting confused about what information was required, and I was writing the software. A user would be much more likely to get it wrong. Second problem, latency. If you had Radio configured to poll every five minutes, on average you'd wait 2.5 minutes before the post appeared on your weblog. It takes about 1 minute to run out of patience, and another thirty seconds to write an angry email, leaving another full minute to wonder why you bothered. And then sometimes it would take five full minutes. That's enough time to create and edit a blog post explaining how brain damaged Dave Winer must be to design such a system. Anyway, I managed to convince Justin that sending an email was the best option, and that some enterprising Radio programmer would probably figure out how to get Radio to automatically load the email for the 1 percent of the people who want it to work that way. I'm relieved because I don't have to write any software to create audio weblog posts. Back to getting ready for my move.s" [Scripting News]
XML-RPC polling? How about just creating a RSS feed from AudBlog that contains all of the audio posts. Then we could treat the feed as BlogArt . Would be easier than getting the file pointer from email. H.G.
