SAM Status

Since the holidays, I have been spending all my free time rebuilding the Audioblogging Gateway into the SAM server.  After giving the Audioblogging Gateway a taste of SAM with "SAM over RSS" in late December, I decided I wanted SAM not only as an output form but completely at the core of the audio messaging server.

In the server I wanted a XML format that was totally, completely  "Audio Messaging Centric".  None exist, so I decided to create one just for the SAM server.  In the core of the SAM server itself, it's great to have the freedom and ability to workout and create the XML format that supports best the ideas I'm trying to achieve for audio messaging.

In the core I was looking for the perfect audio messaging XML format that allowed the publishing of my own audio files as well as allowing me to clearly point to audio messages created by others giving proper credit and meta data.  The meta data needed to support discovery by Web tools like Google as well as Technorati, Feedster and future feed and Rich Media discovery tools.

So, with all that and more, the new server is based around the SAM XML file format.  I plan on  publishing the latest version of the SAM XML file format I'm using later this week for comments and for anyone interested in just seeng what I'm doing lately with the SAM format.

The good news to report today is I'm starting to finally see some real HTML and XML outputing from the server.

Output of the new SAM server to the famous RSS and ATOM feed formats does not yet exist but they are not far down the development list.

Besides all that, I myself need the SAM server to participate in the BlogAudSphere.

A little political humor from the Mont-ster Report

A little political humor from the Mont-ster Report

Rob Monti, aka The MonT-SteR, talks about the dream he had last night that had the star of the dream, George W. Bush running through the streets with a bullhorn demanding votes in response to a Kerry Ad.  Funny enough to be the basis of a  SNL (Saturday Night Live) skit.
