We're back!!!!!
I made the decision this morning to finally pony up the yearly fee for my Radio Userland account. I really was on the fence with this decison for about 2 months. I am basically giving Userland one more year to move their software forward or I am moving on.
I also made the decision today to become a member of the "Podcast Specification Working Group". Hopefully this will be more fun then political.
The reason why I joined is because I totally agree with their statement: "We formed the Podcasting Specification Working Group because we believe further collaboration can eliminate barriers to the growth of the listening audience. " amen!!
Hopefully after all the media attention has moved on about podcasting, maybe some folks have begun to see that from a technological web platform standpoint there is more hype here then solid technology foundation to build a great community oriented narrow cast platform.
In other words their is plenty of technology work that still needs to be done to make this work the way it is meant to work as a narrow cast discovery platform.
