Podcast support in next version of iTunes:
"In the Q&A, Jason Calcanis of Weblogs, Inc. asked if there was any possibility of using the iTunes music store for paid podcasting. Jobs replied that for the moment they were only considering it as free content, but that he was open to looking into it."
Imagine all the free buzz/Geek talk this announcement will produce in the blogosphere and blogaudsphere over the next 60 days. Like I have said before, podcatching is really just a feature or the latest new feature when you look at this from the big company digital media picture. For anyone already in the game, and in the game for the longhaul integrating and putting the basic podcasting features into their big picture media product is a simple, no brainer low cost option. By Apple being one of the first movers look at all the free buzz, PR and branding they will get for just talking about doing it. And then they get to integrate it into their platform and most importantly monetize it on their terms and vision! From Apple's perspective, I bet they agree Podcasting was a great choice of a name for all of this!! When will they give their public thank you to the podcasting community? Maybe they think they just did.
