... from the man who wrote the book on podcasting:

Open Note to Apple!

I think it is good that Apple has talked to Adam Curry about their Podcast integration into iTunes as it shows they are trying to get it right.

If Apple is not talking to some of us down in the trenches I would hope that they would reach out to others in the community. Don't get your implementation wrong because if you do Podcasters are not going to be happy.

Hey Apple lets talk!

If I was in charge at Apple I be trying to get any if not all of the IPodder Lemon guys (the developers that currently have the #1 cross platform podcatcher client - over 450,000 downloads and counting) on the ITunes team as consultants for at least the next 60 days.  And if they wanted to stay on I find a way to hire them.  Seems a small price to pay to get the proper skill sets on the team to knowledge transfer the model they used to build their popular software.  Not only would this move guarantee that version 1 is right the first time as a bonus it would serve as a great way to learn about and build a real bridge to the podcasting community.

Lets hope that someone at these meetings was selling an idea like this to Apple.
