My respect to Apple! My respects to Apple!
Today in tech class at the Medill training center for Chicago Public Schools, I pulled out my IBook and hooked her up to the network. Working in Word, Explorer, Chimera to host the blog chat and chat a bit with Tim A. , catch up on email, and DVD Player with no problem!!! Chatted with Tim for a few. The DVD didn't scratch and played on. If you walked in the lab I was the one bopping to the Sade DVD and I had the work done as the teacher did it. The IBook cooked and didn't crash burn. My respects to the programmers of OSX!!! The Power of Unix."Martha" is looking for a computer for her house. You know which brand I will recommend!

Go Dave! Five years ago on this day, I wrote a piece that nails it, as far as I'm concerned, on programmers.

Wow. Lots of corporate misbehavior in the news today. It seems that our business culture has sprung a leak that has drained out integrity and a sense of fairplay. Much of this can be attributed to example set by Microsoft and Bill Gates (Microsoft is the world's most profitable company and Bill is the world's wealthiest man -- they are examples of what the US free market system can produce). Their unwillingness to act with integrity and play by the rules of our market system has resulted in a massive, across the board erosion in corporate value systems. Further, the inability of the government to deal with Microsoft has falsely convinced corporate America that they can get away with similar conduct too. [John Robb's Radio Weblog]

BlogChat - its off the Hook! I had the great pleasure of chatting with "Brent Ashley " of Blog Chat at http://www.blogchat.com and Peter Ford at Schoolblogs at http://www.schoolblogs.com. Brent is the developer of Blog Chat which for the most part is fast, efficient and just plain cool. Yesterday we had a trip down memory lane regarding music of the 80's. Both fans of the English groups at the time. Both fans of Sade. He was living in England when she broke out of South London. I got a introduction to his family. His young daughter is a great artist. He has enough stories for a great book. Stop by Blogchat for a chat! Had the honor finally meeting Peter Ford of School Blog fame using BlogChat . Actually got to meet him conferencing with some of his students. He recognized me and introduced me with plaudits and being a pioneer in edublogs. I was red. The students liked our domain site at http://www1.whittier.cps.k12.il.us/ It was my honor to meet all.

SADE - DVD I just saw what I missed by not going to the Sade concert last year on the SADE DVD. The audience was pretty tame to to 83 concert at Chicago's Auditorium. THE dream job is being in Sade's backup group. Too Cool! Understatement.
