End of the Year... The School Year Damn, I hate this part of the year. It is when I look at the glass as half full. Just a habit!

Quigley South Prep Seminary H.S. Looking at my referrer logs, I find folks looking for information on Quigley South College Prep Seminary H.S. have come to my site. Quigley South, the last great experiment in education done by the Archdiocese of Chicago. It brought a bunch of mostly working class kids and helped them and their parents believe that they could make something of themselves in life. (Something like 97% went on to college) Though it may not have produced as many priests as the Archdiocese would have liked, it did produce men who continued to help in local parishes, joined public service/education or corporate careers in the city and beyond. In other words, the school produced good citizens and active parishioners in thier local church. The school was closed some time ago. My salute to those who actively recruited latino and African - American students to go to Quigley South. It wasn't perfect but a great option for a non - Anglo kid. Addendum - I talked with my brother Adrian - Class of 1980 and he agreed! I would have to say my brother Alan - Class of 1984 would concur as well.
